The band Winterdance joined in our holiday-themed fundraising effort on December 14. They are Tyler Weed, John Weed, Amelia Hogan, and Paul Kotapish.


Wake the Dead, the Celtic all-star Grateful Dead jam band, lead off our folk festival on November 23. Appearing were Sylvia Herold, Danny Carnahan, Paul Kotapish, Valerie Rose, and Brian Rice.

The women’s choral group Solstice followed.
Singer-songwriters Matt Jaffe and Kurt Huget (shown next) joined us for our Bread & Roses 50th Anniversary tribute on September 14.


Bread & Roses has been bringing music to people in institutional settings since its founding by the late Mimi Fariña.

San Miguel Fraser, the duo of María San Miguel and Galen Fraser, shared their music joining Castillian and Scottish notes on September 7.

The local Cajun band Sauce Piquante led off our SF Free Folk Festival Preview on July 6. Sauce Piquante members are Jim Ruth, Blair Kirkpatrick, Steve Tabak, and Kathy Price.

The duo of maritime singers Peter Kasin and Richard Adrianowicz followed.

The partly Neil Young tribute band Sugar Mountain closed out our preview. They are Paul Kotapish, Joe Cadora, and Bethany Sorkey.

Erica and Friends (or as it happened, Friends of Erica, in Erica Hockett’s absence) led off our On-Air Folk Festival for the year on June 22. The Friends are, from left to right, Charlie Hancock, Jason Courtney, Tom Lindemuth, Chris Hammond, and Anne Bingham Goess.

The duo Kaptain Bottletop, David Boyden and Lee Corbie-Wells, joined by Nickolay Georgiev, closed our part of the festival with a collection of Scandinavian tunes.

Paul Kamm and Eleanore MacDonald of Nevada City made their long-awaited return to our air on April 6.
